UnderWater World Mini Incursion
Mini Incursion - This 45 minute touch and ‘shell’ experience is a favourite among teachers looking for an educational experience for their students that helps inspire a passion for our oceans and marine animals. Giving students the opportunity to SEE and TOUCH a variety of Rocky Shore animals including: sea stars, sea urchins, freshwater turtles, sea cucumbers and hermit crabs; this program also includes a large display of shells and rare ocean artefacts.
Little ‘Ocean Explorers’ will have the opportunity to dive into a range of educational, interactive and FUN activities giving them the hands-on opportunity to touch, explore and learn more about our amazing ocean worlds. Older students will enjoy the opportunity to interact with LIVE animals while also getting the chance to learn more about a marine topic of their choice from one of our knowledgeable and experienced UnderWater World Education officers.
This extremely popular option is fun, engaging, convenient and affordable, and best of all you never have to leave the classroom!

UnderWater World Mega Incursion
Our second incursion option involves a highly interactive, 60-75 minute mega-session which includes a variety of educational pre and post visit activities for teachers, hands-on learning stations*, amazing marine animal encounters and of course an expert marine educator to tie it all together!
Collectively, our flexible station options will involve the concepts of grouping and identifying animals (classification and adaptations) as well as conservation messages in regards to teaching students how to care for and respect our marine animals and their environment. Your students will have the opportunity to see, touch and learn more about each of the following Rocky Shore animals: sea stars, sea urchins, freshwater turtles, sea cucumbers and hermit crabs.
They’ll learn in more depth and detail about the ocean and some of its most unique and dangerous marine creatures whilst having the opportunity to touch and hold a large variety of shells and rare ocean artefacts. This session will also include a discussion on a marine topic of your choice from one of our experienced UnderWater World Education officers. Whether your students are in year 2 or year 12, this program has been designed to align with the Queensland curriculum and offers teachers the flexibility to modify the stations to meet your desired outcomes.
This amazing MEGA session provides teachers with a comprehensive educational experience for their students and the convenience of allowing students to learn in their own classroom environment.
